What is ARU?

ARU (Audio Response Unit) is a automated touch-tone credit card processing system. Merchants who do not have a credit card terminal can utilize ARU with their touch-tone telephone. ARU is ideal for paper merchants who want to receive their funds faster, have quicker response times, and improve their processing costs.

How ARU Works

The merchant dials into an 800 toll-free number and is prompted to enter data to complete the transaction. The merchant has the option to do sales, credits, voids, forced transactions, batch settlements and inquiries on current and previous batches. Settlement can occur automatically once a day, or the merchant can settle their batches through the ARU system.

•  Host based ARU provides authorization and capture automatically on all ransactions (pre-authorizations are not available on ARU)

•  Close options include Manual or Auto Close

•  Option to complete multiple settlements through out the day

•  Ability to process the following transaction types: sales, voids, credits, forced transactions, batch settlements and batch inquiries

•  Automated transaction detail for a specific card number in the current open batch

•  Inquiries on batch totals, from current batches to previous batches dating back 14 days

•  Inquiries on batch detail, from current batches to previous batches dating back 14 days

•  Option to be connected to a "live" operator in the event of an error
